The sheer scale of the National Park and State Forest surrounding Dargo and their ease of access have made the town a hub for Sambar deer hunters from all over the world. Some prime trophies are taken from the Dargo region every year with countless others taken for human consumption.

Fishing

The Dargo region often produces brown trout to 1.5kg+ with other species such as bass recently introduced in to the Wannangatta River. Please note, streams and rivers around the region are closed to hook and line fishing during the trout and salmon spawning season.
